Man accused of attempted murder in Ogle County, Illinois shootout after police conduct a "welfare check"

A 32 yard old man was alone in his home and his family called 911 as they were concerned about his safety/mental health. According to police, they attempted to contact him but couldn't.

So, instead of waiting they decided it was a good idea to break into his house in full kit. The man inside then acted like anyone else would when armed men break down their door - he shot them.

This is yet another example of the danger that "militarized police forces" pose to all Americans. Some of us are old enough to remember the pre GWOT days when the police would do everything possible to de-escalate situations like this but those days seem to be long gone...

This happened just down the road from me. This would be the 5 time this dude has had suicidal issues per his family. Look at what he had on him in the report attached. These officers are our good old country boy friends and neighbors and this is not okay.

That's awful.... We're in a timeline where people are more worried about other people;s business than there own. So glad to hear things worked out. Thanks to God indeed.
