We've been very busy on the homestead the last few weeks. We are about 10 days out from receiving our next batch of meat birds. One of the projects I've been working on is building a new chicken tractor, as I gave our other tractor away to an older neighbor who needed one.
Since it was so hot yesterday, we didn't want to cook inside and have the oven fight the air conditioner, so we decided to break out the "All-American Sun Oven" and let the sun do the cooking for us.
The chicken was a Red Ranger that we raised in the spring, and the potatoes and carrots were from our garden. It was a delicious meal!
This is the peach tree we planted right after we moved in. It looks like we will get viable fruit this year. We'll see in just a few weeks...
Here are some more pics from the homestead.
Happy homesteading & God bless,
George
Outstanding!
man, thats messed up. I was hungry, now i'm starving!!
Looking good! Awesome job on the very kempt garden. We live here in south Texas, and the bloodweeds and bermuda grass take over everything!
Where did you get the oven? And how long did it take to cook everything?
Also, can you post some photos of your chicken tractor?
Nice work, looks great!
